The gallery is housed in part of the Cunnamulla Fella Information Centre. The building is the original old Cunnamulla State School building which was bought by council and moved to its present location between the shire Hall and centenary Park in 1995.
In recent years the building has been extended to allow for a museum and art gallery as well as talked about Artesian time tunnel to illustrate that which is the life blood of the outback-water.
As a regional gallery, the centre organise exhibitions for a duration of 8 weeks before changing them. In most cases the exhibitions are generally local artist or those from surrounding districts. It is important to the gallery that each exhibition is different from the previous, everthing from landscape/portrait painting to patch quilt work and photography.
The Paroo Shire Council is rich in natural beauty which attracts a lot of visitors to the area. Yowah is renowned for its yowah nut and its annual opal festival in July; Eulo for its hospitality and rich history as well as the date and fig farm winery; Wyandra for its rich railway history and hertitage walk, and Cunnamulla the largest town of the shire is home to the Cunnamulla Fella which sits on his petistal overlooking the town and welcoming visitors.
